It seems like every weekend this year I've had to pack for another trip, it's starting to chap my ass just a little bit...but I guess the trips ARE worth it.
I guess I'm one the once-a-month plan for updating this journal thing, but that's better than 6, I suppose.
Right now, I'm waiting for my jacket to finish drying, so I can go to bed...it's not that I need the jacket as much right now, it's that the dryer squeals like someone is killing cats inside, but really we're just trying to get some shit dry. Apparenty it's going to be balls cold in D.C. for the inauguration, something I've not had to deal with much this year. Hell, it was 70 about a week ago...I wen't to the mountains, now I just sit in the house and freeze.
So, we were on the news tonight, about going to the inauguration as the representative for Tennessee, that was pretty cool. We leave at like 9 tomorrow morning, and get home Friday evening. It should be fun, minus the 6+ hours of security checks on the day of the Parade. Meal money will be a plus, though...it means I can pay the bills this month :)
One problem is that I have to write a paper when I get home, comparing a book to the lectures for this week, which I'll be missing....not really sure how that one's gonna turn out. Oh well, what can you do?
Alright, well, that's as much as I feel like spending on this thing. Talk to you all Friday night.

I was just talking to my friend Amber, and it turns out that I've not updated this thing in about nine months or so...I guess I'll just run down the last 9months or so and get you caught up...
April - nothing happened
May - School ended, got a job at CVS Warehouse
June- Bonnaroo, CVS
July - CVS, 19th birthday
August - trip to D.C., moved into an off-campus house, started school
Sept - School, band trips, played edward 40 hands
October- School, fall break
November- Thanksgiving, school
December - School ended, got a 3.8 for the semester, Christmas Break, made a christmas tree out of bamboo and lights using empty captain morgan airplane bottles
NOW - tired as hell from working on cars for two days, enjoying a crisp bud light, debating on whether I'll go to bed, or play xbox for a while.
I guess I should explain the xmas tree. We found that bamboo plants were growing in our backyard, so we tore one down, stuck it in a orange road cone, put lights on it and a star made from a bud light box. It's awesome.

Things have been pretty uneventful lately. School, and sitting around.
I feel like a genius compared to last semester. I got a 90 on my first spanish test, a B+ on my first english paper (He caught on to my gamble at rewording a paragraph at the end of the body to make the paper longer, so the grade was a bit low, hehe) and a 59/60 on my Stress Mgmt test. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I aced my geology midterm
Next week I have 2 tests and a paper due.Haven't started the paper yet. Oops.
This weekend should be fun, there's a party saturday. Maybe I'll go out tonight and see Club Dread.
Gotta take care of that FAFSA today, too. It's due by the 1st. :\
This summer I plan to work my butt off, minus the few days for Bonnaroo. I'm pretty excited about seeing some of the groups playing this year.
Spring break is coming up in a couple weeks. My plans consist of buying tires and hopefully visiting Kalen and Chris up in KY. I've gotta do something for a week, since they are giving us the boot out of the dorms for the week.
Sorry for the crappy post. At least it's something though.

This weekend was fun, even though people hid my beer. Just took the first part of my spanish test an hour or 2 ago, kicked its ass - the rest is tonight at 6 30.
Today is 4.00 burger day at calhouns. Shit yeah.

wow. we lost, but that isn't what makes a trip. not a game.
Wednesday - We got up, rehersed, ate some lunch, polished the horns, got on the bus.
Drinking ensues. We left at 1pm, I drank until we got there. A good 10-15 shots of capn, jack, and bacardi o.
Got there, ate some dinner. Went to the peach drop. Bought a 4.00 beer.
came back, drank 2 24oz beers. we threw these bottles at a billboard on a building across from the hotel. I ate a sandwich..well..I ate the meat from the sandwich. Gross ass convienence store sandwiches.
So drunk, we somehow ended up in the lobby of the hotel. 2 guys fell asleep, another was talking to himself, and I don't remember what I was doing. Sitting there i guess.
A girl came down, told us we needed to go to bed, we agreed, and went.
Got to the room, I decided I needed water so I wouldn't have a hangover. I got a glass, and filled it with water. Apparantly in my drunked state, I only had a grip on the glass for 'dry weight' the glass fell right through my grip, shattering in the sink. Normally I would be mad, because I had to clean glass up, but at this point I couldn't see straight. I laughed my ass off. I found another glass, drank water, stumbled to my bed.
The bed was covered in 2 suitcases, clothes, and other random belongings of me and one of my trip roommates. I grabbed it all, and in one motion pushed it all off the end of the bed. This made going to the bathroom sick the next morning difficult. (I think i was still drunk)
Well, the hangover made thursday a hell day, till it wore off at about 6:00pm. I looked like a heroin addict.
Didn't touch the stuff thursday night.
Friday was the game, we lost. oh well. Friday night, we partied again. Yeah 40oz beers. Nothing funny really happened other than changing the numbers on the hotel doors, and these drunk girls that were JUST in the room, left and couldn't find it again because the number was gone.
Saturday we came home.
That was my trip. Moral of the story: Don't stay drunk for 13hours straight. It will kick your ass, no matter how fun those 13hours were. (THey were a hell of a lot of fun. I got burned by a firework at the peachdrop, too..but I was so drunk, I just stood and looked at it burn my hand.) so...no drunken fireworks for you kids, either.

gone to atlanta until saturday for the mafuckin peach bowl. Oh well - i'll make it fun. I have rehersal tomm morning, haveto be there at 8 in the am. Suck.
oh yeah, nana and mom got me a new car - 1996 toyota celica...haven't seen it yet, but I'm excited. I won't get to have it for like 30 dayts because of transferring the title and stuff, but yeah...its silver 5sp, sunroof - all that good stuff.

So Christmas is right around the corner...this week. Turns out I still have some presents to get...I'm going to have to brave the mall once again. THe only problem this year is, unlike last year, I have no job- therefore no money for presents for many of my friends. I've been able to get the close family..but that is from dipping into savings. (My car fund goes down by the day. Damn you unemployment!)
Oh well,...at least I'm trying to make a little money from doing Basketball pep games. 15.00 dollars a game isn't too bad. Turns out I forgot my uniform at the cleaners, too. I'm gonna go tomm and say I had to go out of town for family stuff if they are like "why did you leave your uni a week long?"
Hopefully some $ will come in for xmas, so I can afford a car in the spring...and afford to keep up my habits. That and college, I can't keep up the tremendous amount of loans for too long. I need a 3.25 gpa w/ 14 hours next semester to get the lottery scholarship..gotta bring up the 2.28 gpa I got this semester. Chem/ math / spanish really got me good.
Oh, did you know there were German U-boats in the Gulf of Mexico sinking ships in WWII?? Neither did I. Interesting stuff.
Oh well, enough of my boring shit. Have a good christmas - since it's likely I won't update for weeks again. I suck at writing in this journal thing...

Finals tomm and tuesday then I'm done. Looking forward to the Bowl game even though its the damn peach bowl in ATL. At least its one more trip, one more chance to hang out and party with band people.
Another good thing about break will be hopefully hanging out with a lot of people I haven't seen in a really long time. I think i'm going to get a christmas tree at the beginning of break too, for the house. At least that's what my grandmother was talking about a while back. This xmas will definately be a bit wierd without papaw though. I think my grandmother still takes it a bit rough sometimes...and I guess she has every right to. I've actually been surprised at how well I ended up taking it. Accept the facts and move on, you know? That's the trick to life in my opinion.
I should probably study some more Chem. for tomm...but I probably won't. Tomm night, however, will be hardcore spanish studying. I NEED a C in there.

Just spent a while on Chemistry PreLab for tomm's 8am lab. Pretty sure I don't know how to do it.
Now I have to read english. Thank God I've already done math. Oh, I need to write a Spanish Paper, too...and study. Test wednesday.

Well, today was a LOT harder than yesterday ever could think of being.
We marched from 9-12 outside, and not pansy marching, but marching like on some moves, what you do is slam your foot into your calf with the toe pointing down. And you move like this, so what happens is your calves (calfs?) get scraped/cut up.
From carrying the tuba, my shoulder and neck are swollen and red. My legs hurt to walk.
From 2-5 we had sectionals. This may seem easy, because 1/2 of it is inside, but since I play tuba, I stand the entire time. The last half of sectionals we stood outside and played. It's where you might play one measure 20 times though, just because its not sounding great.
At 6:30 we marched outside until 9, doing the calf-destroying marches (they call them the VOLS spellout, and the "flash step") we were yelled at a lot, had to do stuff over and over, and then we had our marching evaluated. I think I probably got one check (which is bad. checks=bad)but its okay, because I can fix it. Apparantly I was lifting my feet a little on the mark time.
Tommorrow, we don't have to be at the field until 10, but really we have to be there at 9:45 for stretching, which REALLY means I have to be at the band room a little after 9, so that I can get my tuba put together, and move my case to the chorus room.
In the pride, 10:00 means 15 till, which is earlier for tubas, as I said a min ago.
Oh, I forgot, we (tubas) also stayed an hour late after practice working on Pre-Game music. Fun fun. We have playing tests tommorrow for A page 1 and A page 2 (tennessee waltz), and B page (alma mater). The next day is C page (rocky top), D page (cant remember the name), the day after E page (mountain music) and F page (stars and stripes forever)and finally, the day after that 'Fight Vols Fight' and 'Down the Field' And basically, if I don't memorize this stuff, I'm out. :/
Other than that, I'm having a blast. The tuba section is sorta like a family already, we sit around and joke, and go eat together and stuff. It's great.
I'm about to pass out I think, so I can have another fun filled day tommorrow.

I got the internet up here, but I won't be on much. Really the only time I am at my room is after 9:30, but I have to study music, so if I can get online at nights, it will only be about for an hour.
I am already so sore/tired. Tommorrow will be twice as hard as today, as will everyday from now on.
I have my cell, too. So if you want leave some messages, that would be awesome. Something to look forward to at the end of the day.
Right now I'm going to bed. Gotta wake up at 8:00am to get down to the band room and get my stuff ready for 9-12 rehersal outside, then I have lunch, then 1-5 rehersal in sectionals (also outside, but not marching) then dinner 5-6(OR 6:30 If we are lucky) and rehersal outside until 9 after that. Then I will study music I have to memorize, and *MAYBE* be online a bit tomm. before I pass out.
